Canyamel Golf Club is set out in a very hilly area on the east coast of the island very close to Capdepera. The course has a large and diverse selection of Mallorca's indigenous trees and plants providing an extraordinary vists. Its setting also offers a stunning panoramic view. The architect, José Gancedo, has been very careful to retain the natural lay of the land leaving as much untouched as possible when laying out the paths of the course. This enables the course to integrate harmoniously within the natural environment. It is an interesting course, Gancedo appears to have used all of the original elements found on the land and designed the course around it. There is an old house on the 9th hole and many old stone walls criss-crossing the fairway. There is a wonderful stock of old trees ranging from olive trees, almond trees right through to a perfect arbutus, everything a golf playing nature lover could wish for.
