This amazing natural part has a protected area of 1.708,75 hectars of land and is situated facing the bay of Alcudia within the districts of Muro and Sa Pobla.
The wetland of S'Albufera is actually a Special Protection Area for Birds (ZEPA) and is one of the most important ecosystems in the Balearics and Pitiüses. There is such a diversity of flora and fauna such as the huge variety of birds, the eels, the snakes, the vegetation of the rushes and beautiful wild flowers blossoming in this environment which, together with the water, bridges, canals, the beach and the dunes form an exceptional and very special natural area for the true nature lover.
The park holds different activities, all aimed at promoting the environmental and cultural values of this area, on a regular basis. There are video and photo sessions, guided visits, demonstrations, such as the traditional way of fishing, and many other interesting activities related to the polular culture of this environment.
You can get to the park on foot or bicycle via the Pont dels Angelesos. Entry is free but you do need to obtain permission to enter at the Park Reception Centre.
Visiting times are from 9 am - 6 pm April 1st to September 30th and 9am - 5 pm from October 1st to March 31st
