Son Vida Golf course, officially opened by Rainier of Monaco in 1964; is the oldest golf course on the Balearic Islands. Only 3km away from the centre of Palma de Mallorca this course is situated in the centre of one of Mallorca's most luxurious exclusive residential areas "Son Vida" from which it gets its name.
This is primarily a meeting place of prominent local residents, the rich inhabitants living in the neighbourhood as well as tourists. The course runs through a very fashionable exclusive residential area gives those playing a round a brief insight into the life of the rich and the famous on Mallorca. The course extends over two very diverse areas; the first half is uneven with narrow paths on the first nine holes which levels out on the second half with wide flat paths. A very renowned golf course designer, Kurt Rossknecht, has only recently remodelled the course, resulting in an exciting combination of the traditional course design within the new and currently contemporary design principles.
